COLUMBUS, Ohio — Mitt Romney's narrow Ohio victory allows him to move on with Super Tuesday's key prize, while leaving behind questions about his strength in the crucial state for November.
Romney got good showings in metro areas and among voters concerned about the economy and picking the best candidate for defeating President Barack Obama. However, he won by only 1 percent while outspending rival Rick Santorum by about 4-to-1 in the state.
Santorum supporter Attorney General Mike DeWine says the former Pennsylvania senator showed Tuesday he connects better with blue-collar workers and swing voters the GOP nominee will need for election.
But Romney supporter Sen. Rob Portman says Romney demonstrated he's the best candidate for beating Obama and dealing with the economy.
The stage is also set for a tough Senate race.
