DULUTH, Ga. — Dominique Wilson scored 20 points and Pachiyaanna Roberts added 16 to help McEachern win its first state girls title with a 69-36 victory over Hillgrove in the Class AAAAA championship on Friday night.

McEachern (33-0) advanced to the title game last year before losing to Norcross. Wednesday ngiht, the Lady Indians avenged that defeat with a three-point win against Norcross in the semifinals to end the Blue Devils' quest for a third straight title.

It marked the third time this season that McEachern routed Hillgrove in a matchup of Region 4-AAAAA schools from Powder Springs.

Celina Rodrigo finished with 17 points for the Hawks (26-5).

Hillgrove coach Sheryl Fowler said recently that she planned to retire after the game. Fowler coached for 16 years at McEachern before Hillgrove hired her. Hillgrove was founded in 2006.
