Dan L Stringham1941 ~ 2012Dan L Stringham, 71, passed away April 7, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona, due to complications from pneumonia and diabetes. He was with his wife Linda and his children at the time of his passing. Dan had a strong heart and spirit that did not want to quit, even though his body was worn out and finally gave up.Born February 22, 1941 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Lawrence Edward "Buzz" and Eda May "Mike" Stringham. He grew up in Murray, Utah with his sister and two brothers. Dan was always independent and worked from a young age. After graduating from Murray High School, Dan enlisted in the Navy and worked as a medical corpsman in San Diego. He worked for the Utah State Highway Department and became a licensed surveyor. He was a civil engineer and project manager, working with partners on projects throughout the mountain west. A successful businessman, he started several companies including Yellow Rose Construction. Work led him to Tucson where he lived since the 1980s.Dan was a loving husband and father. Married Linda Lucas in 2000. He loved his five children and 15 grandchildren. Had many "adopted kids" as well that loved him like their own Dad. Was a mentor to the boys and loved all of "his girls". Dan loved boating, Princess cruises, family trips, fishing, shooting, western music, big bands, John Wayne, U of A, and U of U, cowboy boots, yellow roses, sunflowers, his dogs and cats, but mostly his family.Survived by his wife Linda; children Mark (Laurie), Cheri (Tres), Melissa (Ryan), Russell (Katrina), and Robyn; sister Pat; brothers Guy (Marie) and Frank (Vincy); grandchildren; Uncle Gene and Aunt Elaine; cousin Dean; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by mother, Mike and father, Buzz.Funeral services at Sun Ridge Ward, 5422 S. Sarah Jane Dr. (approx. 5300 W. 5400 S.), Kearns, UT Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing at 1:00 prior to services.
