John Alvon (Al) Glauser1913 ~ 2012J. Alvon (Al) Glauser passed away May 31, 2012 in Salt Lake City. Born in Salt Lake City September 19, 1913 to John and Lena Neiderhauser Glauser. Graduated East High School in 1931. Married Beverly Elaine Brown March 20, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life. Went on a Swiss German mission from 1934 1937. Worked for 50 years at Egg Products Co. Member of the Emigration 6th Ward; the S.L. Rotary Club for 20 years; 49'ers for 73 years; Dirty Shirters for 29 years. Organized Road to Recovery in Utah and volunteered for the American Cancer Society for 20 years and the L.D.S. Hospital for 19 years.He is survived by daughters Shirley Latta of Larkspur, CA. and Mitzi (Carl) Hancuff of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Tracy (Carmen) Hancuff of Edmond, OK, Shannon Latta (Pierre Freau) of San Francisco, CA. and Travis (Christina) Hancuff of Atlanta, GA; three great granddaughters, Hensley, Harper and Kira and three great grandsons, Brady, Oscar and West. Siblings who have passed away, Ruby Jackson, Lucille Butterfield, Floyd Glauser, Helen Skidmore, Gloria Combe and Reed Glauser. Special thanks to Mary Glauser. Al loved to be active, enjoying people and sharing jokes with them. His motto was live, love, laugh and learn. At 94 he was still golfing and bowling. In lieu of flowers, take a friend to lunch.Funeral services for Al will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 12:00 Noon, at the Ensign Stake Center, 589 East 18th Avenue. Family and friends may visit Tuesday evening at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the Ward.
