MURRAY — A bank robber is most likely walking around covered in ink after attempting to rob a Utah First Credit Union branch Friday.
The suspect, described as a white male in his 30's, entered the UFCU at 6800 South 900 E. handed the teller a note and said that he was carrying a gun.
The teller handed him over the money but also put a dye pack in the bag, which most likely exploded on the suspect. The suspect also dropped most, if not all, of the money as he was fleeing the scene.
Unified Police Department Lt. John Barker said he left on foot but probably got into a vehicle.
"We could track him for a period of time but then it just kind of stopped," Barker said. "I suspect he got in a vehicle."
The suspect originally entered a Granite Credit Union about a block away from the UFCU branch that was robbed but was deterred by a security guard.
Barker added that the suspect also was about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed 180 pounds and had his arm in a sling.
