Obituary: RYAN, BASIL

Basil L. RyanDec. 11, 1951 ~ March 15, 2013Basil L. Ryan, 61, of Eagle Mountain passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family March 15, 2013 after a brave battle with ALS. He was born in Boise, ID on December 11, 1951 to Robert and Bonita Mae Ryan. He grew up in Twin Falls, ID and graduated from Walla Walla High, Walla Walla Washington. Basil married Suzanne Hutchings, the love of his life, on November 5, 1986. He worked in the Golf Course industry for over forty years at various courses. He enjoyed his time at Bountiful City as the Golf Course Superintendent along with many friends and associates he came in contact with there. He was an avid hunter and sportsman and loved the outdoors. Basil was a great cook and a wonderful husband. As a Cancer survivor, Basil had a fighting spirit and gave courage a new meaning.Basil is survived by his wife Suzanne Ryan, his father Robert Ryan of Lacy, WA, brother Ron (Shiree) Ryan of Polson, MT and Randy (Maryann) Ryan of Lacy, WA. He is preceded in death by his mother Bonita Mae Ryan and son Chadwick Ryan.Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah. Family and friends may call Thursday evening at the mortuary from 6-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday morning. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
