Obituary: BARTON, ERMA

Erma B. Barton1927 ~ 2013Erma Brown Barton, age 86, passed away on April 17, 2013 in Nephi, Utah.She was born February 26, 1927 to Howard H. and Gladys Ingram Brown, where she was raised in Nephi with her two brothers, Don and Rex. She married Don L. Barton in the Manti Temple on October 6, 1943. They were blessed with three children, Joan, Barbara, and Ryan. Don and Erma owned and operated Barton Plumbing Heating and Electrical together for 30 years. She also owned Erma's Dress Shop. Erma was a fun, ambitious person who loved and adored her family and friends. She was very generous and always helping others. Erma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and eagerly served in many callings, including Relief Society President. She was a member of the Delphic Literary Club and also served as a Hospital Pink Lady as well as many other civic projects throughout the years. She faced health issues with dignity and grace and always expressed sincere appreciation for any help she received. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Survived by her children, Joan (Rod), Barbara, Ryan (Heather), 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Don and Rex. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don and her parents.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 23 in the Nephi Stake Center located at 351 North 100 West Nephi. Family and friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, and one hour prior to funeral services on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
