"Johanna" Nielsen"Johanna's Kitchen"Joanne "Johanna" Gloria Savenski, Hallock, Nielsen, 78, passed away on 4-15-13 in her home in Sandy Utah. After laying in a coma for many days, and with her family, friends and loved ones by her side, she woke up and opened her eyes, looked up and reached towards heaven, then took her last breath.Johanna was born June 14th 1934. She raised five children as a single Mom and her courage taught them that "if you are not bleeding, then you are fine" and if you fall down and scraped a knee to "get up, put spit on it", and keep going. She is an amazing mother, woman, and friend who has touched and changed the lives of countless people forever. Famously known around the world as "Johanna" she leaves a great legacy. On a wing and a prayer, she built and established on February 14th, 1971, "Johanna's Kitchen" Restaurant, located at 9725 South State Street in Sandy Utah, a place not just for great home cooking and family atmosphere, but a place responsible for people meeting their soul mates, getting married and having babies. Johanna's was a place where lifelong friendships were formed, a place responsible for supporting families, LDS missionaries, going to college, giving to the poor and numerous charities. Because of all of this, Johanna has been recognized, featured and awarded in numerous Cooking, Business arenas and Women's Success magazines, articles and newspapers. However, what Johanna is most of all famous for is her courage, positive outlook and love of life. Her contagious smile and laugh would make you forget any problems you ever had and you would find yourself smiling, laughing and walking away feeling like you had just been touched by an angle. Johanna will be greatly missed.Online condolences may be made at www.larkincares.comPlease join us as we celebrate Johanna's amazing life April 25th, 2013, 6 to 9 p.m. at Johanna's Kitchen Restaurant 9725 South State Street, Sandy Utah.
