Runners came away from Saturday's race in Midway covered in a little more than sweat, as rolling in the dirt and mud was a prerequisite to reaching the finish line. The Dirty Dash, a mud run obstacle course held at Soldier Hollow, beckoned hundreds of fitness enthusiasts from throughout Utah, some competing in creative costumes. The gang trudged mountains of sludge and wallowed in pits of slimy mud, only to say they participated in the first of 12 official dashes to be held across the country this year. Another similar race is planned at the same location in Utah in September.
