Ivins, Utah is the proud host of the outdoor Tuacahn Amphitheatre. For 18 years it has attracted hundreds of thousands of guests to its world-class theatrical productions. It has grown to be one of the top attractions in southern Utah with over 265,000 guests last year, second only to Zions National Park. Half of the guests come from out of state.

Artistic Director Scott Anderson says their actor/actress base has gone from zero to hundreds of Broadway actors, actresses, and veterans a year. Over 14,000 professional actors, dancers, and singers will apply for 60 roles this year in plays such as Starlight Express, Marry Poppins, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Scott does all the hiring for each production. For two months of every year, he searches for talent locally throughout Utah and even travels to New York and Los Angeles.

The Theatre's partnership with Disney allows them to perform Disney shows each season. Last Year, the biggest hit was Tarzan. For the first time this summer, they are offering an indoor show--Mulan! This slightly shorter Disney production is designed specifically for younger audiences. Marry Poppins, one of the many shows this summer, is expected to attract more crowds than ever.
