PHOENIX – BYU-Hawaii junior midfielder Michael Moreno has been selected as the Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Moreno scored three goals and amassed six points during a 2-0-0 week for the Seasiders. The Orem, Utah, product is tied for second in the league with his three goals after four games. Moreno also spent time playing for the Cougars in Provo before transferring to BYU-Hawaii.

At Hawai'i Pacific on Sept. 21, Moreno snapped a 2-2 tie with a game-winning goal at 68:40 on a through ball.

He wasn't done there as just under four minutes later at 72:38 on a free kick from about 35 yards out he helped BYU-Hawaii roll to a 4-2 victory.

Earlier in the week he scored an insurance goal that put BYU-Hawaii up 2-0 at 61:16 in what would turn out to be a 3-0 victory at Chaminade on Sept. 17.

BYU-Hawaii begins its biggest road swing of the season with a trip to the mainland for an 11 day tour against four PacWest schools.
