Obituary: WEST, SHELBY

Shelby Gustafson West1974 ~ 2013Shelby Gustafson West past away Friday, August 30th, 2013. Shelby was born August 14th, 1974, and is the daughter of Marsha Groendyke and Duane Gustafson. She married her true love, Michael William West on August 19, 1995, in the Oakland CA LDS temple. Shelby and Mike created a beautiful family with their three daughters, Micaela, 15, Brielle, 13, and Zoe, 7, who are the best of her in both beauty and spirit. Shelby grew up in Northern California, earned a BA in Sociology from BYU, and loved being with people of all ages, especially the elderly. She was generous with others in every way -compassionate and inclusive - and her ability to love was boundless. Shelby endured 13 years of chronic illness but always kept her family and friends as her primary concern. In addition to her immediate family and parents, Shelby leaves her siblings: Eric Gustafson (Lesa Davis), Eryn Gustafson (Scott Giles), and Alec Gustafson (Emily Everton). Shelby's additional family is Linda (William West), Leslie West, Kelly (Nicholas Bryan), Matthew West (Whitney Steiner), and Lindsay West. Ten nieces and 3 nephews will miss their Aunty Lulu. Special acknowledgements to Richard Sylvester, Deanna Sylvester, Karen Blatter, Mona Groendyke and Zenna Longhurst. Funeral Services will be held Thursday September 5, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the Cedar Hollow Stake Center 2200 N 1200 E Lehi, UT. A viewing will be held Wednesday September 4, 2013 from 6-8:00 pm at Wing Mortuary 118 E. Main ST Lehi, UT and One hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment Lehi City Cemetery.
