LOGAN — The 22-bed Cache Valley Hospital will soon be a part of the MountainStar Healthcare network, which extends its services from Utah County to northern Cache County.

The acquisition will be finalized by the end of this year. Hospital CEO John Worley said the partnership "aligns our community with a strong regional network of hospitals and outpatient facilities throughout Utah."

The hospital, which opened in 2000 and served 23,204 patients last year, offers surgery, imaging and laboratory services, and is a certified level 4 trauma center, complete with a 24/7 emergency department. Primary patient services include orthopedic care, physical therapy and advanced wound care.

"We look forward to introducing new, lower-cost insurance options and additional services that will enable us to continue offering the best health care available to Cache Valley residents for many years to come," Worley said.

MountainStar owns seven hospitals in Utah, one in Idaho and one in Alaska, as well as a number of outpatient, imaging and surgical facilities throughout its service area.
