This week, many "Breaking Bad" action figures were removed from Toys R Us shelves after a mother's petition on Change.org went viral.

Now, a sketch comedy show on BYUtv is making scenes from "Breaking Bad" family friendly. A "Studio C" parody of the Emmy-winning AMC series about a high school teacher-turned-drug-dealer was posted on BYUtv's YouTube channel Thursday.

"Maybe action figures from this #BreakingBad spin-off will be appropriate for #ToysRUs," BYUtv posted on Google+ Thursday.

The sketch features several characters from "Breaking Bad," which is known for its violent and drug-related content.

In the "Studio C" parody, the character of Walter White is played by Jason Gray and Jesse Pinkman by James Perry. Rather than having them work together in making meth, Gray and Perry are involved in creating math problems.

"One of my writer(s)/performers, Jason Gray, came up with the idea and wrote it up," "Studio C" producer Jared Shores told the Deseret News. "We all immediately loved the concept and thought to ourselves, 'Can we do this?' We played with the script as a group to make sure it fit our audience to the best of our ability and then prepped it to shoot."

Shores explained that they were excited to make the parody of "Breaking Bad" something that families could watch together.

"We look for humorous events or situations in life that are relatable both to ourselves and our audience," Shores said. "We first developed this script when 'Breaking Bad' was cleaning house at the Emmy awards and thought how it’s a show that several families probably don’t sit down and watch together. 'Studio C' is on the other end of the spectrum. We’re continually trying to be that show families can sit down and watch together. So what would happen if those two worlds combined? What would that even look like? Behold the birth of 'Fixing Good.'"

Shores also explained that they decided to release the video this week after "Breaking Bad" was brought back into the news.

"We really had no idea when we shot it that 'Breaking Bad' would be coming under fire and getting their merchandise pulled from Toys R Us," Shores said. "Watching the media attention unfold, we all looked at each other and said, 'Oh yeah, we’re releasing this one as soon as possible.'"

The video was posted on YouTube Thursday, and at the time of publication had more than 30,000 views.
