LEHI — Lehi Police Lt. Darren Paul has been selected as the city's new police chief. Paul will begin his tenure as chief immediately.

Paul has 20 years of law enforcement experience, all with the Lehi Police Department. He has served as a patrol officer, detective and sergeant. He has spent the past seven years as the lieutenant responsible for the patrol division of the department.

“I am excited and humbled at the opportunity to serve our community as the police chief,” Paul said. “I look forward to working with the outstanding officers in the Lehi Police Department to provide the best possible public safety services to the citizens of Lehi.”

“I am pleased that we have the opportunity to promote Darren to be our next police chief," Lehi City Administrator Derek Todd said. "We had an amazing group of professionals apply for the position, and Darren clearly emerged as the best candidate. I know that he will be able to provide excellent leadership for our police department for many years.”

Paul earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Utah Valley University, a bachelor’s degree in emergency services management from Utah Valley University, and a Master of Public Administration from Brigham Young University.
