"American Idol" season seven finalist Brooke White released a music video Wednesday exclusively on the Mormon Channel. She wrote the song, titled "Something Divine," to comfort a friend who was facing a trial of her faith, but White says it has taken on added significance since she became a mother two and a half years ago.

In an Oct. 3 interview with "Mormon Channel Daily," White explained that the purpose of the song is to remind listeners of their divine potential, a principle she is now trying to instill in her daughter.

The video features White fulfilling her role as a mother alongside her 2-year-old daughter, London, and her husband, Dave Ray. As the video begins, White sings “Every Star is Different,” a piece from the "Children's Songbook" that highlights the uniqueness of each child, and then she transitions into her original composition. White hopes the song will help people feel they are not alone.

“I think that’s really my mission in life, is to help people feel they’re not alone,” White told Mormon Channel Daily. “Essentially, I think that’s what, you know, Christ does for us is to help us feel less alone, and that’s really what his message was, that he was there and understood each one of us, and while I can hardly even make a dent in that respect, I think music is a great way to connect and help people feel less alone.”
