Ten people from local Texas Roadhouse restaurants brought their sharp knives and steady hands to take part in the preliminary round of the Meat Cutter of the Year competition in West Jordan on Monday, March 24, 2014. Each person received 50 pounds of beef consisting of two top-butts, one tenderloin and one rib loin. They were judged on quality, yield and speed. The winner advanced to first round of the Meat Cutter of the Year competition next year. The national grand prize is $20,000.
