Rea Fae Beck CarltonApril 29, 1926 ~ March 28, 2014Alpine, UtahRea Fae Beck Carlton passed away peacefully Friday, March 28, 2014, in Mona, Utah. She was born April 29, 1926, in Alpine, Utah, to Leland and Verland Grace Healey Beck. She grew up in Alpine and graduated from American Fork High School where she was a cheerleader. After World War II when her sweetheart returned from the Pacific, she married Lloyd R Carlton in the Salt Lake Temple in 1946. She was active in her LDS faith and held many Church positions such as Primary teacher, Primary President, Stake Primary President, and Stake Relief Society President. She was also active in civic affairs and the PTA where she served as PTA Council President in the Alpine School District. She worked as a teller at the Bank of American Fork at the Alpine Branch and retired from there after 12 years.Rea had a wonderful alto voice and sang with two double trios. She also enjoyed entertaining at various Alpine events where she sang and danced with many of her friends. She enjoyed beautiful flowers and enjoyed gardening in her yard. She also was known for her cooking. At any fund raising event, her pies went for premium prices. Her children and grandchildren will miss her pies at Thanksgiving and the cookies that she always had in her kitchen. She enjoyed camping and traveling with family and friends. Bear Lake was one of her favorites.She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her sister, Cleo Shepherd. She is survived by her children, Yvonne (late James) Williams of St. George; Gaya (Michael Minch) Carlton of Draper; Jason (Natalie) Carlton of Fairview; and Rick (Doni) Carlton of Mona, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren who will miss her. She is also survived by her siblings, Leland Ross (late JoAnn) Beck of Alpine; LaRene (LaMar) Drew of Alpine; Deanna (Ken), Brown of Centerville; Kathleen (Max) Brown of Alpine; Cheryl (Gerald) Walker of Beaverton, Oregon; and ReNae (Fred) Keetch of Alpine .We would like to thank family, friends, and the health care professionals who have been so kind in serving Rea. You have shown true Christ-like love as you have helped us through this most difficult time.A viewing will be held at the Anderson Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Utah, on Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Mountainville 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 98 E. Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, Utah, preceded by a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Alpine City Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Mortuary.
