Forty-six-year-old Mark Parades has an unusual religious rsum. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since age 11, Paredes has also dedicated decades of his life to Judaism, according to a June 19 profile in the online Jewish magazine Tablet.
Paredes' professional career has immersed him in Jewish culture and diplomacy, while his spiritual career now has him serving as a Mormon bishop. He fuses his love for both religions by working "to advance Jewish-Mormon relations," according to tabletmag.com.
He's also vocal about encouraging young Jews to proselytize — the same way Latter-day Saints do.
“I’m a very active missionary for the idea that Jews should be missionaries,” Paredes told tabletmag.com.
