The Cougars are rising.

The undefeated BYU football team climbed four spots to No. 21 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and has moved into the USA Today Coaches Poll for the first time this season, checking in at No. 23.

The coaches poll, released Sunday morning, has Florida State and Alabama as the No. 1 and No. 2 teams, respectively. Oregon leapfrogged Oklahoma to move into third place. The Associated Press writers have Oregon moving all the way up to No. 2.

Last week, the Associated Press put the Cougars as the No. 25th ranked team in its poll, but the Coaches still had them unranked, five points short of No. 25 North Carolina.

BYU (3-0) is coming off a 33-25 victory over Houston on Thursday night in Provo. The Cougars were the only unranked team to move into the coaches poll as Virginia Tech dropped out.
