Rather than being entertained at Turner Field with the traditional "kiss cam," Atlanta Braves fans have been enjoying the "Simba cam."

Just as in the popular Disney movie "The Lion King," when Rafiki raises Simba into the air, the "Simba cam" zooms in on parents holding their children above their heads. The trend started earlier in the season as a tribute to Braves player Andrelton Simmons, who goes by the nickname "Simba," Today.com reported. It went viral this weekend after videos from the Friday night game against the New York Mets were captured and shared online.

The Braves posted a video clip on Instagram highlighting the "Simba cam" from Friday night, which now has more than 11,000 likes.
