"A ROYAL TIARA," by Sara Staker, illustrated by Becky Fawson, Covenant Communications, $14.99 (ages 5-7)

Ava is a little girl who has been taught she is a princess with heavenly origins in “A Royal Tiara.” One night she gets an idea of how to incorporate her love of everything girly with her desire to choose the right. So, with the help of her very patient mother, she stays up late making a special tiara.

Author Sara Staker has wonderfully integrated teaching the concept of divine heritage with a daddy’s bedtime story. Her whimsical use of words makes reading this book a delight. LDS girls who have ever glittered and glued can relate to this story.

Illustrator Becky Fawson has child-friendly illustrations and has made every page explode with Ava’s lighthearted personality. Her graphic-design abilities have also added little touches throughout the book that give it charm.

“A Royal Tiara” is a book suitable for all ages, especially children. It teaches The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint theology of heavenly parents and of an individual’s ability to become like God.

Staker, a mother of four, lives in Provo. Fawson, a mother of five, resides in Cedar City.
