HARRISVILLE, Weber County — "Blizzard conditions" contributed to a crash in Wyoming that killed a Harrisville couple and injured their children Saturday.

Highway 387 east of Edgerton, Wyoming, was covered in snow and ice when the Kenison family's Suburban crashed head-on into an oncoming semitrailer on Saturday, Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. David Wagener said.

Visibility in the storm was estimated at 70 feet and wind speeds of 40 mph were recorded, Wagener said Monday.

Police believe Steven J. Kenison, 37, of Harrisville, was westbound in the Suburban and lost sight of the lane in the blizzard. The vehicle moved into the eastbound lanes where it was hit by the truck.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is also investigating Steven Kenison's speed as a possible contributor to the accident.

Steven Kenison and his wife Eliza Kenison, 30, both died at the scene.

Ivan Kenison, Steven Kenison's father, said his 2-year-old granddaughter, KayLynn, was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City where she was treated and later released.

Eliza Kenison's brother, Jacob Swanson, 21, of Gillette, Wyoming, and the couple's other three children — Ralph, 5; Leonard, 2; and Clifford, 2 months — were treated at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming. The children are now with their grandparents in Utah.
