SALT LAKE CITY — Baylee Brooke Hoaldridge, 15, who was burned from the chest down in an ATV accident four months ago, died Monday afternoon.

On her Facebook page Be Brave Baylee, the family wrote that she “passed away peacefully" at University Hospital. "She was surrounded by her loving parents, brothers, grandparents, and many other family members and friends. She was comfortable and pain-free as heaven's angels gathered to take her home to her Heavenly Father.”

Baylee had been in the hospital since July 4 following an accident that left her burned over 65 percent of her body. She endured 27 surgeries and countless setbacks as she fought to survive.

Sunday, the family made the difficult decision to take her off life support.

A post on the Facebook page says funeral services will be held next week, with a viewing during the evening of Monday, Nov. 23, and the funeral on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Further details have yet to be disclosed..

Students at Timpview High School wore their "Sunday best" to school Monday in honor of Baylee, as did students from other schools in Utah County, including Spanish Fork, Maple Mountain and Provo, according to Baylee’s father, B.J. Hoaldridge.

In September, Timpview students crowned Baylee as their sophomore homecoming princess.
