Before feasting in the afternoon, some Utahns spend their Thanksgiving morning running in turkey trots and other races.
For those who want to join the races, here are details for some of the races across the state Thursday morning.
Cold Turkey Run in Salt Lake City
Races include the Millcreek 5K and City Creek 6K, which start at 9 a.m., and the Kids 1K, which starts at 8:30 a.m.
- Races start and finish at the Olympus Hills Shopping Center, 3536 Jupiter Drive in Salt Lake City.
- Awards are given up to third place in all divisions.
- The website requests that only registered runners attend as it gets crowded.

Races include a 5K and a kids' 5K (ages 11 years old and younger), with both races starting at 9 a.m.
- Races start at the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center, 7500 S. 2700 East, Cottonwood Heights.
- Turkey medals are awarded to those who beat the turkey, with additional awards for up to third place in each age group.

Races include a 4-mile run, which starts at 8 a.m., 2-mile health walk, which starts at 8:20 a.m., and various kids' races, which start at 9 a.m.
- Races start at the Orem Fitness Center, 93 N. 400 East, Orem.
- Participants can register the day of the race for $35.
- Proceeds from each entry will be donated to the Food and Care Coalition of Utah.
- Turkeys will be awarded to all division winners, Village Inn pies to all second-place division winners, with additional ribbon awards and a turkey raffle.

The 5K race starts at 9 a.m. and costs $5.25.
- The race starts at the Midway Town Hall, 130 W. Main St. Midway.
- Strollers are welcome and children can ride bikes or scooters.
- Donations are encouraged through Active.com to Lynden Legacy, and a silent auction will end at 10 a.m. All silent auction funds will be donated to local charities.
- Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers.

The 5K will start at 8 a.m. and participants can register the day of the race for $45.
- The race will start at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens Visitors Center, 3900 Garden Drive, Lehi.
- Pie and gift card awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers, pie awards for age division winners, with additional prizes for best costume, best couple, best group and most original.

Races include the Turkey 10K and Family 5K run, which start at 9 a.m., and the Gobbler 1K run, which starts at 9:45 a.m.
- The races will start at the Bountiful Junior High gym, 550 N. 200 West, Bountiful.
- Race day registration is available: 10K — $50, 5K — $40, and 1K — $20.
- Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age division in the 5K and 10K, with pie awards and a turkey for overall awards.

Races include a 13.1-mile half marathon, which starts at 8 a.m., 5K run, which starts at 8:30 a.m., and a kids' race, which starts at 11 a.m.
- The races will start at Mountainland Applied Technology Center, 2301 Ashton Blvd., Lehi.
- Registration provides food and other services to Community Action Services and Food Bank.
- Awards and products will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the half marathon.

Races include a 10K run, which starts at 8:15 a.m., a 5K run, which starts at 8:20 a.m., and a kids' run, which starts at 8 a.m.
- The races will start at the Confluence Trailhead, near the Dixie Center, 1835 S. Convention Center Drive, St. George.
- The run will match participants' donations to the Dove Center.
- Prizes will include a secret apparel item and a bag of Black Friday specials from local retailers for every runner.

Races include a 5K run/walk, which starts at 9 a.m., and a kids' 1K, which starts at 10 a.m. Day of race registration is available for $25 and $15, but T-shirts or the correct T-shirt size are not guaranteed.
- The races will start at Heritage Park, 1591 N. 1075 West, Farmington.
- The event will be collecting cans for a local food bank the day of the race.
- Prizes will include Visa gift cards as well as raffle prizes.

Races include a 10K run, which starts at 7:30 a.m., and a 5K run, which starts at 8 a.m.
- The races start at Draper Spectrum, 12101 S. State Street, Draper.
- All proceeds benefit the Utah Food Bank.
- Costumes are encouraged.

The race starts at 9 a.m. Day of race registration is available with a suggested donation of $5 per person.
- The race will start at the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, 742 N. 900 East, American Fork.
- Every year, all proceeds benefit a different person in the community who is in need of financial help because of medical problems. This year, the proceeds will benefit Kiya Banzhaf.
- There will be drawings for assorted donated prizes.
