Brigham Young University Vocal Point member Bryce Romney collaborated with several Utah-based entertainers in a Christmas music video released Dec. 1.
In the video, Romney — the featured soloist in the music video — sings the melody of a contemporary Christmas song, "Jesus Is Alive."
The three-year member of BYU's nine-man a cappella ensemble was joined by other video creators, including Stuart Edge, Keith Allen of KFaceTV, Aaliyah Rose and Ashley Hess.
The video was filmed by Vocal Sport, a competitive platform that provides a family friendly venue for aspiring singers, at the annual "Lighting of Riverwoods" event in Provo on Nov. 20.
The video's footage alternates between the singers walking through The Shops at Riverwoods and a baby.
"The baby is listed in the credits as 'Miracle baby from Payson' because of the prayers and pleading directed heavenward to find a baby for the video," said Sherri Whitehead, a creative director and producer for Vocal Sport. "Through spiritual means, we were assured days before the filming that we would find a baby Jesus, but we had no idea that it would come right to our door at precisely the right moment."
Romney, who attends BYU, planned the video as a Christmas surprise for his parents, who are serving as MTC presidents for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As an unlikely surprise, his mother was present during the filming of the video due to a family emergency.
The video had more than 7,000 views at the time this article was published.
