The 87th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, were last night and among the many talented and famous nominees, there are the first-timers whose thespian dreams have come true and those veterans who have been nominated many times, but have yet to grasp the all-important golden statue.

The freshman class of 2015 impressed Hollywood with actors Eddie Redmayne and J.K. Simmons, actress Patricia Arquette and musicians Common and John Legend winning big last night.
