Artist Alex Boye released a version of Bruno Mars' latest hit, "Uptown Funk," in a music video posted to his YouTube channel Tuesday.
Boye wanted to cover the popular song, but he also wanted to make it appropriate for a broad audience.
"I changed some of the words to keep it PG," Boye told the Deseret News. "Which is why I changed the original words from 'put some liquor in it' to 'put some Kool-Aid in it,' but it's also a little tongue-in-cheek because everybody knows I have a strong affinity for the Kool-Aid."
Boye also changed the chorus to say "hot dang."
In the music video, several older men and women dance alongside Boye.
"The favorite thing about making the video was watching all the senior citizens," Boye said. "It really solidified the term, 'You are only as old as you feel.' "
The video had more than 45,000 views at the time of publication.
