EDEN, Weber County — A 35-year-old South Ogden was killed Sunday after the care he was driving crossed the center lane and hit another car head-on, police said.

Leland Joseph Ogg was transported to McKay-Dee Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay said.

Deputies responded to the accident about 1:15 a.m. near 6900 East and 1900 North, Findlay said.

Ogg was driving a black Honda Accord westbound on 1900 North when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a green Ford Ranger that was headed eastbound.

The driver of the Ford Ranger was an 18-year-old woman from Huntsville, whose identity was not released Sunday. The woman had a broken leg and other injuries that were not non-threatening, according to Findlay.

She was transported by Life Flight to McKay-Dee Hospital Center and was scheduled to undergo surgery.

Deputies spent several hours investigating the crash, though it was unknown Sunday why Ogg's vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, Findlay said.

However, deputies found possible illegal drugs in Ogg's car while investigating, he said. A search warrant was obtained for a blood sample.
