In a new Mormon Messages for Youth video, eight young men preparing to serve missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints explain how they use their phones to uplift and inspire each other daily.
The young men from Logan, Utah, are part of a group message, a text message that everyone in the group can see. In their messages to each other, they share scriptures or general conference talks that they come across in their personal study.
"We usually like what we're saying to each other because we're in the same boat," one young man said in the video.
Another explained, "If I'm not reading my scriptures, I feel like I'm letting them down or something."
Several clips from Elder Richard G. Scott's April 2013 general conference message, "For Peace at Home," are included in the video.
The video was posted Monday on the Mormon Messages Youth YouTube channel.
