SANDY — A house fire displaced four Sandy residents and caused $100,000 in damage Friday.
Firefighters were called to a blaze at 9407 S. Quail Hollow Drive about 1:30 p.m and arrived to find flames on the back deck and side of the home.
A woman was evacuated before firefighters arrived. Three other people live at the home and all four will be displaced temporarily because of the fire, Sandy Fire Battalion Chief Chris Dawson said. Family members and friends were making accommodations for the displaced residents.
Crews knocked down the fire in about five minutes. Investigators were investigating the cause of the fire, but it appeared it ignited on the back deck of the home where most of the damage was, Dawson said.
