Anthony Armstrong, the missionary featured in the LDS Church-produced documentary “Meet the Mormons,” made the cut for BYU’s spring football roster Wednesday after trying out for the team as a walk-on, BYU football Sports Information Director Brett Pyne confirmed Thursday.

Armstrong is a 5-foot-10-inch wide receiver who attended Alta High School in Sandy before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is in his second semester at BYU but is listed as a sophomore for the 2015-16 football season.

Armstrong isn't the only BYU football player from “Meet the Mormons.” Va’a Niumatalolo, son of Navy football coach Ken Niumatalolo, is a sophomore linebacker for the Cougars.
