The Utah Valley University men's golf team wrapped up its season with an eighth-place finish Saturday at the PING Cougar Classic at Riverside Country Club. The Wolverines tied for the eighth spot with a three-round score of 872 (+8) after shooting a final round 5-over-par 293.

Colorado State won the team title with an 11-under-par 853. Pacific (861) placed second followed by Brigham Young in third (862). The Wolverines tied for eighth with Nevada and finished ahead of Boise State (877) and Air Force (896).

Utah Valley wraps up its 2014-15 campaign with three top-three finishes, including a win at the Loyola Invitational on Feb. 24, at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Arizona.

Blair Bursey moved up 14 spots on the leaderboard after he carded a 3-under 69 in the final round, matching the 69 he shot in round one. The freshman led the Wolverines at the Classic as he finished tied for 10th with a 54-hole score of 2-under-par 214 (69-76-69).

Senior Brayden Eriksen finished in a tie for 30th at 5-over-par 221 (70-74-77) after tallying a 5-over 77 in the final round. Sophomore JT Timmons recorded a final round 5-over-par 77 as he finished the tournament in a tie for 36th at 6-over-par 222 (74-71-77).

Seniors Preston Richards and Michael Dart tied for 41st with three others. Richards carded a final score of 7-over-par 223 (72-78-73), while Dart registered a 2-over 74 in the final round for a three-round score of 7-over 223 (76-73-74).

Utah State's Seokwon Jeon took home medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 5-under-par 211 (71-70-70).

The tournament marks the final event of the season for the Wolverines, who return to competition in the fall.
