SALT LAKE CITY — The city's Homeless Services Site Evaluation Commission is holding a community open house for residents and stakeholders.

The meeting is on Wednesday, April 29, 6-8 p.m. on the third floor of the Salt Lake City-County Building.

The commission evaluates and considers the range of services as well as facilities and locations for shelter and other emergency homeless service providers. The commission will submit a set of recommendations to help shape the future of these services in Salt Lake City.

The commission recently has met with homeless people, service providers, community leaders, and city residents and businesses. It reviewed current Salt Lake City homeless service facilities, area plans for future sites, and researched how other cities provide homeless services.

That work yielded a draft Community Commitments and Values statement, which will be the focus of the open house, and a draft Factors for Success document.
