In a video produced by the University of Utah, President Henry B. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, shares memories from his childhood along with his belief in the importance of education.

During a commencement ceremony on May 7, the University of Utah awarded President Eyring an honorary doctor of humane letters for his contributions as an educator and prominent religious leader. The video of President Eyring was shown during the ceremony.

"The University of Utah is, for me, you see, the kind of a place that I was trying to create for my sons and my father was creating for me," President Eyring said in the video. "It's a place where people can grow and learn beyond what is reasonable to expect. Education is not where you've been. It's what you do. Do something you love, and then try in the process of doing the thing that you love to try and lift other people."

The video was published May 8 on the University of Utah's YouTube channel.
