A stuttering comedian fell to his knees after the judges on NBC's "America's Got Talent" gave him a standing ovation and cleared him to move on to the next round and compete for the prize of $1 million on this year's season of the show.
Four years ago, Drew Lynch was hit in the throat by a softball, leaving his speech impaired by a stutter. During his audition, which aired Tuesday night, Lynch used his comedy to poke fun at his impediment in a humorous and moving performance.
"I know you're here to make people laugh, but I can't tell you how emotional you make me because comedy usually comes from a dark place," said judge Howie Mandel in the video. " ... What you did is you looked for the light at the end of the darkness, and that light is your comedy. I'm telling you I haven't been moved by an act like this until this moment."
At the time this article was published, the video had been viewed more than 320,000 times on YouTube.
