SALT LAKE CITY — Parking rates at Salt Lake City International Airport will increase July 1.
According to a news release issued Tuesday, the daily maximum rate for the airport's parking garage will jump from $28 to $32.
"The purpose of the rate increase is to create more parking availability in the garage, which typically sells out at least twice a week," said airport spokeswoman Bianca Shreeve.
The garage's hourly parking rate will remain at $2 per half hour, and the economy parking will remain at $9 per day. Shuttle buses run from the economy parking lot to airport terminals every 10 minutes.
"It has been seven years since the parking garage daily rate has changed," Shreeve said. "The $32 maximum puts Salt Lake City in midrange of other comparable airport parking garages."
