The Godfrey Clan, the family of Nitro Circus creator Gregg Godfrey, recently auditioned on NBC’s hit variety show "America's Got Talent."
The group is composed of Godfrey's children, nephews and nieces who enjoy a variety of high-risk sports and stunts. The family members showcased their skills on Tuesday night's episode by using a giant slip-and-slide to catapult themselves through a ring of fire.
Utah native Gregg Godfrey created Nitro Circus, an action sports entertainment company, with Jeremy Rawle and Travis Pastrana, according to nitrocircus.com. Godfrey credits his hometown with providing inspiration for the company.
"The interesting thing about being raised in Salt Lake City is, we were exposed to mountains, lakes, rivers ... everything you can think of that kids should use and play on and create on," Godfrey said in a 2014 video from Nitro Circus. "It just leads itself to become what Nitro Circus is."
When seven of the Godfrey Clan's 12 members made their appearance on "America's Got Talent" Tuesday night, one member told the judges, "Our main thing is doing anything that's probably unsafe." Another said the group members have collectively broke seven collar bones in the past year.
Although the judges voted not to advance the group to the next round of auditions, that won't slow the family down. The group posted an Instagram video Wednesday with clips of the audition, teasing future plans with MasterCraft Throwdown and Evel Knievel.
