Fans of comedy, hairstyling, music and more flocked to the UCCU Center at Utah Valley University on Friday and Saturday to participate in CVX Live, Utah's first YouTube convention.
The Creator Viewer Experience Live event was hosted by the creators of Bored Shorts TV: brothers Brett, John, Dave and Randy Roberts, along with their friend Richard Sharrah. The group has found success on YouTube with its "Kid History" series.
The convention allowed fans to meet the Bored Shorts TV creators and the owners of other popular YouTube channels, who are often referred to as YouTubers.
Following a red carpet event Friday morning, during which each YouTuber was introduced, John Roberts said he was satisfied with the turnout.
"Yeah, were really happy with it," he said. "Youre always concerned how many people are going to show up, how many people are going to buy tickets, but ticket sales have done really well. The show all came together like wed hoped it would, for the most part, so were really pleased. Were definitely going to do it, at least in Utah, every year."
During the red carpet event, DeseretNews.com reporters caught up with the stars of many YouTube channels. Find out why each creator enjoys making videos, and read his or her advice for aspiring YouTubers.
