An Angel Moroni statue was placed atop the Fort Collins Colorado Temple on Wednesday despite recent vandalism, according to the Coloradoan.
Vandals damaged construction machinery and parts of the temple's exterior structures Sunday, Aug. 23, according to another report from the Coloradoan.
The statue was added the day after The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a statement about the damage.
President Thomas S. Monson announced plans to build the Fort Collins Temple in 2011, and Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Presidency of the Seventy presided over the groundbreaking in 2013. The Fort Collins Temple will be the second LDS temple in Colorado.
