WEST JORDAN — The Trans-Jordan Landfill is providing free tours to educate the public on the critical role landfills play in the community.

The tours — conducted by appointment only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays — are open to civic groups, businesses, schools and clubs. Tours must start no later than 4:30 p.m.

Tour groups must have a minimum of six people. For groups with fewer than six people, collective tours are held on the third Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m. Appointments are still required. Due to safety concerns, participants must be at least 7 years old.

Tours should booked by email at least one month in advance at education@transjordan.org. Please include the number of people in the group, the age of the attendees and the preferred tour date and time.
