Those kids have been playing together their whole lives. It's awesome, those guys are on the same page all the time. – Fremont head coach Kory Bosgieter

PLAIN CITY — One of the most dynamic duos in Utah high school football just dominated the Pleasant Grove Vikings.

Fremont quarterback Saxton Morby and wide receiver Haze Hadley connected for two touchdowns in the Silver Wolves' 27-7 victory Friday evening.

Morby and Hadley have been playing together for most of their playing careers and it shows.

"Me and Saxton and I have played for eight years now," said Hadley. "He's a heck of a player. He just makes plays. My job is to get open and he gets me the ball."

"We've been playing football together since we were 7 or 8 years old," said Saxton. "We just love to play football. We know everyone's tendencies and we just do everything we can to make plays."

"Those kids have been playing together their whole lives," said head coach Kory Bosgieter. "It's awesome, those guys are on the same page all the time."

Morby hit Hadley for a 41-yard touchdown in the second quarter, a score that was made possible by Morby's elusiveness in the pocket. Morby avoided the speedy Viking pass rush and found a wide open Hadley who then easily trotted into the end zone.

Their second connection was even more impressive. It was fourth-and-4 for the Silver Wolves from their own 20-yard line in the third quarter. Morby snapped the ball and was looking right but no one was open. The Pleasant Grove pass rush collapsed the pocket and Morby looked like he was going down. But somehow Morby escaped, jumped over an opposing lineman on the ground, and found Hadley in the back of the end zone.

The most exciting play of the night came on another Fremont fourth down on its own 25. Hadley lined up shotgun behind center (who by the way was tight end Colter Wilde). The Silver Wolves sent eight players to the left hash. Hadley took the snap then ran to his left, pitched it to Morby, who then threw it to a wide open Wilde for the 25-yard touchdown.

Morby and Hadley play defense too, and really well. Both ended up with interceptions on the night to go with their impressive offensive outings.

The Silver Wolves will host Taylorsville next week in the 5A quarterfinals.
