HOLLADAY — A man who suffered critical injuries when he was allegedly choked by his 24-year-old son last weekend has died from his injuries, Unified police announced Thursday.

Bryan Wright, 53, was discovered by officers on Saturday responding to an attempted suicide call at 4034 Solar Circle. He had a noose tied around his neck, and was unconscious and breathing shallowly, according to police.

The man's son, Shane Paul Wright, told police: "It's gruesome. I helped my dad kill himself," a Salt Lake County Jail report states.

The son told detectives that "he needed to aid with his dad's death in order to help his dad through all his pain," according to the report.
