Petra is an ancient city thought to be over 2,000 years old that was carved from rock, the description to the group's newest video reads. It boasts hundreds of monuments, temples and halls in red sandstone which has earned it the title of “Rose City.” It is believed that the city served as a center for trade by the Arab Nabataeans, according to the Petra Development And Tourism Region Authority.
Today, the city is best known as the home of the Holy Grail in “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” so it is fitting for the Piano Guys to perform John Williams’ famous theme at Petra. With their unique touch, the Piano Guys seamlessly blend selections from Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s classical piece “Scheherazade” and add breathtaking shots of the scenery.
The video shows the narrow entrance to the city known as the Siq, as well as the Temenos Gate. In addition to the views of Petra, Steven Sharp Nelson takes his cello into a crowded market place in the city of Amman, Jordan. According to the video’s description, they were even asked to play by a certain booth so a man could sell more fish.
