Former University of Utah safety Austin Lee will resume his collegiate career at BYU.

Lee, who prepped at Alta High School and left the Utes during fall camp in August, announced his transfer via Instagram.

He told the Deseret News that he is currently taking classes and will begin at BYU in January.

An all-state safety with the Hawks, Lee signed with Utah in 2012 and then served an LDS mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He appeared in seven games during the 2015 season, tallying four tackles.

He has three years of eligibility remaining.
