People all over the world are turning into mannequins.
Social media users are posting videos of themselves and others suspended in mid-motion in a new trend called the Mannequin Challenge. The desired effect is to look like "someone pressed pause during a movie," according to NPR. Those in the videos don't move, blink, or in some cases, even breathe, as seen in this video of the Pacific Tigers water polo team.
And humans (and animals) from all walks of life are joining in on the challenge. Paul McCartney was one of the many celebrities who participated in the challenge. Ellen DeGeneres also posted a video of her and her team playing table tennis and hanging around the office. The muppets of Sesame Street have even gotten in on the action (or non-action), showing off their skills — at least until Ernie decided to ruin the moment.
But perhaps the most impressive are those videos posted by sports teams.
The U.S. women's national soccer team posted a video of the players relaxing after a day of training.
Brigham Young University's women's gymnastics team also posted a video, which has since been featured on ESPN and viewed over 7 million times. Not to be out done, the Texas A&M gymnastics team also released a video.
Some teams, though, are participating in the challenge on the fly. Just yesterday, England's soccer team scored a goal during a game and then celebrated by freezing in place.
More locally, the Lehi Fire Department posted a video on Facebook on Sunday of their firefighters eating a meal together while waiting for their next call.

The Deseret News team also decided to take part, and shot a video as well.
