TOOELE — Two separate vehicle crashes resulted in three fatalities early Saturday on I-80, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Two female occupant died after a white SUV traveling westbound crashed at approximately 3:25 a.m. near milepost 59, UHP said. The driver drifted right then overcorrected to the left before the vehicle slid across two lanes and crashed, according to UHP. A female occupant was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, while a 3-year-old girl was also ejected. She and other adult occupants in the car were flown to Salt Lake-area hospitals. Another female occupant died at the hospital. The girl was listed in critical condition, according to UHP. There was no word on the condition of the other passengers.
In a separate incident, Eddy Robles-Cordova, 40, died after he was ejected from a black LandRover that crashed at about 4 a.m. near milepost 70, UHP said. The driver overcorrected after drifting off the left side of the road, UHP said. None of the occupants in that vehicle were wearing seat belts. Speed and alcohol appear to be a contributing factor, UHP said.
