PROVO — The compost yard, 1625 S. Industrial Parkway, is set to reopen under city management on Friday, March 4. It will be open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, depending on weather, through Dec. 3.
Material drop-off will be limited to Provo residents, who will need to show a copy of a current Provo utility bill. A $5 fee for pickup truck loads and for trailers up to 16 feet will be applied to residents’ utility bills for each drop-off. An additional charge will apply to larger loads.
No stumps or roots will be accepted, nor will any logs larger than 10 inches in diameter. Logs larger than 4 inches in diameter will need to be cut into lengths no longer than 3 feet.
No loads from commercial haulers or landscapers will be accepted.
Residents may purchase mulch for $2 per yard; the fee for nonresidents is $5 per yard, depending on availability.
The compost yard will be open all week during the spring and fall cleanups — March 28-May 7 and Sept. 26-Nov. 5, respectively. Hours of operation during those weeks will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Material drop-off will be free during that time.
