The Utah Valley University women's golf team is in ninth place in the 14-team field at the BYU Entrada Classic after two rounds of play on Monday at Entrada Golf Course at Snow Canyon Country Club. The Wolverines shot a two-round score of 54-over-par 630 (317-313).
Tournament host BYU leads the tournament with a two-round score of 12-over-par 588 (293-295). Iowa is in second place at 605 (+29), while Boise State is in third at 612 (+36). BYU's Lea Garner holds the individual lead after shooting a two-round score of 2-under-par 142 (71-71).
The Wolverines (630) are in ninth place ahead of Southern Utah (633), Weber State (636), Yale (643), North Texas (679) and Dixie State (685).
Kalea Heu led the Wolverines on Monday with a two-round score of 11-over-par 155 (75-80). The senior registered three birdies 10 pars in her first round as she played the front nine at 2-under par. Heu had one birdie and nine pars in round two.
Cassandra Lesa sits in a tie for 24th after carding a two-round 12-over-par 156 (77-79). Lesa opened the day with a 5-over-par 77 before shooting a 7-over-par 79 in round two. Lesa tallied three birdies through her two rounds.
Freshman Pernille Echberg, who is playing individually, is also tied for 24th after shooting a 12-over-par 156. Echberg registered a 6-over-par 78 in each of her rounds on Monday with three birdies and 21 pars through her two rounds.
Ana Raga is tied for 44th with a two-round score of 16-over-par 160. The freshman shot 10-over-par 82 in the opening round before recording a 6-over-par 78 in round two. Raga tallied four birdies and 16 pars on the day.
Carly Dehlin is in a tie for 54th after carding a two-round score of 20-over-par 164 (88-76). After opening the tournament with a 16-over-par 88 in round one, Dehlin rallied in round two to register a 4-over-par 76. Dehlin had one UVU's two eagles on the day as she eagled the par-5 11th hole.
Kimberly Nyhus rounded out the scoring for UVU with a two-round score of 21-over-par 165 (83-82). The junior is tied for 58th. Nyhus registered one birdie and 16 pars through her two rounds of play. She also tallied one of the nine eagles on the day as she recorded a three on the par-5 first hole in her opening round.
Utah Valley plays the final round of the Entrada Classic on Tuesday. The Wolverines tee off on a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MST. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.
