In the 25 years since it began as a creative project, Brigham Young University's Vocal Point, has performed across the nation, reached international audiences through YouTube and competed on NBC’s “The Sing Off.”

A YouTube video released Thursday showcases the history of BYU Vocal Point, a nine-man a cappella group.

“The thing that is most exciting to me about Vocal Point today is that it has essentially the same effect on the audiences as we did at the very beginning,” co-founder Bob Ahlander said in the video. “The singing is better and the performances are way more entertaining than they used to be but the effect is the same. People are happy. It’s a joyful experience.”

BYU Vocal Point recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with four concerts in early March and an alumni reunion, where a music video was shot. The music video has not yet been released, but the group said it will be coming soon on Twitter.
